So, does this mean I am now officially a blogger?!

Well, this is something new! I am being generous when I say that I am not a technologically savvy person. While I do believe that using technology creatively will enhance my learning experience and challenge me in ways that facilitate growth, I am also intimidated. My main concern is that I will spend too much time trying to succeed at the technological aspect of the course and will lose time studying the context required for the care of the complex client. I will say, my husband is a teacher and loves incorporating new ways to use technology in the classroom. He is thrilled that I am being pushed outside my comfort zone.

My First Post

Hi all!

So far I am very excited about this course. With my EMT training background, I always loved emergency and critical care and am very excited for our clinicals. I am a little concerned about doing well in clinicals when faced with the daunting task of critically sick patients and my other concern is using all of this technology required for the course. I would say I am moderately capable of using technology at this point so hopefully it will get easier soon as I become more capable!

Day One, Year Two, 1/3 Done!

I am very excited to have a class that incorporates technology into our curriculum.  I usually avoid technology whenever possible so in many ways this will be uncharted territory for me.  I am eager to learn valuable skills to incorporate technology into the way we communicate with patients, each other, and our community.  Becoming comfortable and familiar with working online is going to be incredibly useful in the future.  It may make us anxious and probably is a novelty to many of us, but there is no time like the present to break out of our bubble!
