For my blog post the 3 social issues that I selected are: Police Brutality, Mental Healthcare, and Gay marriage. To start things off I choose police brutality because recently many cases of police brutality towards people have occured. With footage of the riots in Ferguson and Baltimore being covered day and night as events were unfolding it showed that there is severe tension between police and the public. With all the media attention surrounding the misconduct of police it causes the public to fear all police officers when they are approached by them. On the other hand fearing the prosecution of the media and the public many police officers are hesitant to do their own jobs. Secondly, when it comes to the issue of our mental healthcare system research has shown that millions of people with mental health disabilities go untreated. The reason these people are not being treated is because in some cities mental healthcare can be hard to come by or some people just do not know that they have an issue that can severely effect their lives and their loved ones. Digital Footprint Audit

While doing my digital footprint audit something that really surprised me was that any sort of social media sites such as Instagram or twitter did not show up for me even when I put my name and the social media site. Instead of social media sites something that did show up was my max preps site that was created for me when I played football in high school. After I looked at that I did an image search of my name and the city I’m from and looking through a bunch of pages I was not able to find any pictures of me. I believe this was because Whittier is highly latino city and my name is a typical latino name so a bunch of other hits for people of the same name probably got searched instead of me. While doing the search for just my name certain things that I found is that there is a major league pitcher that used to play for the pirates that shares my name as I continued to search under there I discovered there was also many minor athletes that share my name in the fields of boxing, basketball, and ultimate fighting. Introduction

Hello, My name is Michael Gonzalez and I am a transfer student from LA. I have lived in either LA or LA county all of my life until now and I am kind of excited to  be out of that traffic. I am a Psychology major hoping to be able to go to grad school and become a neurobiologist. If I am able to become a neurobiologist I am hoping to focus my research on various neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson’s. One of my main interests is anything about music I love DJing, going to music festivals, or just hanging around in my room blasting music. After I get my career going I would love be able to travel the world and visit places such as Dubai or Amsterdam. If money permits I would also love to be able to travel to other music festivals around the world such as Ultra in Miami or Tomorrowland in Belgium. Other interests include many things outdoorsy such as hiking, off-roading, snowboarding, and wake boarding. As I grew older I would love to be able to purchase an off-roading jeep and an RV so I can make impromptu camping trips.
