Waterlogged at Delacroix
It was a little wet out there today. Delacroix is at a lower elevation than the Woodlands site, so retains much more water (which we had fun sloshing through!)

Today while doing our work in the swamp we came across a giant Thistle. The Thistle stood around 5 feet. Much larger then our thistle in California.
After a day of rain the swamps were full of water. Roughly 1-2 feet of standing water. Alex in the picture below is taking off his shoe as it was full of water from stepping in the wrong place.
Last night after the plantation. We went to rock and bowl. This bowling alley has a full dance floor and a nice sized bowling alley. It felt like an old fashion hoedown.

We moved on to complete transects at Delacroix park today. It’s a much different forest with a more in-tact over canopy and larger woody plants. It’s a little wet but it’s fun to see a different part of the forest! http://youtu.be/FtFkTiMgvOI
We had our crawfish boil today at the Woodland Plantation! And a little tree frog joined in on the action
Visited Woodlands Plantation yesterday and saw our first gator!
