After sorting and compiling all my data into tables I decided to display this information using graphs so I could better interpret my results. Out of the 8 parameters I tested, only chlorophyll, dissolved oxygen, specific conductivity, and temperature had noticeable differences among the channelized and natural portions of Conejo Creek. But, in almost every parameter … Continue reading Results

Data Analysis

This week I have focused more time on data analysis. In comparing the four stream sections (North Fork, South Branch, Arroyo Conejo, and Calleguas Creek I have found some interesting differences and similarities. Here are some graphs showing the greatest disparity between the natural North Fork and the channelized South Branch. Over time chlorophyl levels have … Continue reading Data Analysis

Over winter break I have collected a good amount of data through weekly testing. High water flow due to the first El Nino event on January 6 allowed me to use the sonde to collect data directly but recently lack of rain has reduced flow so I have been bottle sampling and testing manually. The lack … Continue reading Winter Break Update

Permitted

I got my permit finalized today by the Ventura County Watershed Protection District. I will work on calibrating the sondes over the next day or so and be out sampling this weekend.
