Looking up…

A role model is a complicated question. A role model basically someone that a person wants to emulate. Hopefully it would be modeling good traits, but there are bad role models out there in the wide world.  Even in in the area of associated students, there are different role models. There one woman who is kind of quirky. She has a charisma and she makes herself vary approachable. She is empathetic and wants to inspire creativity among the staff. There is another woman who is very calm and collected. She is organized and is used to thinking on her feet and problem solving.  Both are equally good traits to have as a role model.

The difference for me, is I am not usually calm and collected when things go awry. I have a small tendency to panic. I need practice thinking on my feet. And while I think I am quirky and fun, I could use more interpersonal skills.  Some actions I can take are taking a class, practicing speaking, reading about communication skills, and learning how not to get overwhelmed.
