Description:

The CI Drama program wants to produce one of these two plays (Good People and Detroitand have turned to the Martin V. Smith School of Business for financial support. Both the Drama program and the Business school want a production well-attended by business students. Thus, you have been asked to research this issue and prepare a digital report with a recommendation as to which play should be produced and why. The report will be a part of the decision-making process as to which play is funded by the Business school and presented at CI. Students may collaborate in researching the issue, but each should write up his or her own report.

Project Submission:

Submit the project to your CIKeys blog. Once you have your draft ready for review, leave a reply on the Project 1 page. Your reply must include a link to your project and a screenshot of the project.

Report Elements:

  • Your recommendation;
  • Compare/contrast the plot and themes of the two plays – after the first paragraph, you may provide a link to a Google Doc for the complete discussion; provide text citations from each of the plays; incorporate outside sources drawn from reviews and commentaries about both plays;
  • Discuss how the play you are recommending would enhance course activities across campus – consider at least 2 different programs as well as GE courses (the CI catalog would be a useful source), a link after the first paragraph is preferred;
  • Suggestions for promoting the play to the campus community and business and economic students in particular, a link after the first paragraph is preferred;
  • Provide a link to your bibliographic citations – you may choose which style manual (MLA, APA, Chicago) to follow, but consistency in following it will be assessed;
  • Images related to the plays; images should be used throughout the report to enhance the text.

Draft Grading:

The draft is worth 10 points (1/10 of your final grade). Late assignments will receive no points; missing elements will cause a deduction in points.
