The tribe is split into two factions where one faction is being led by Jeremy and the other by Josh. There is a lot of non verbal communication being thrown around by the aggressive feelings from the two factions that have been formed. In the last episode there was a plan put into place by Josh’s faction where they would have had the numbers to vote off Jeremy but this plan was thrown off when Julie quit the game.

The first tribal challenge, the game required splitting into two teams. where the tribe was split evenly into half’s. Ironically the two teams had their own colors to tell them apart which were blue and yellow. Which sounds familiar since that was the color of the two tribes in the game. During the challenge the yellow team was pretty far ahead of the blue team. This I would say had to do with the verbal communication they had. They were communicating very well with one another which allowed them to work together and be organized with achieving the main goal of the challenge compared to the blue team that was scattered all over the place. At the end of the challenge the yellow team ended up winning the reward.

While the blue team was enjoying their reward it was hard for the team members to talk to one another. This had to do with the team being mixed with two alliances. So during this time the team was sitting down enjoying their food in basically silence. There was much non-verbal communication going around with everyone being silence and feeling awkward due to the silence. Keith tried to spark a conversation but it basically failed.

While back at the camp, Josh and the members who lost the first challenge took this opportunity to talk to Blare or I should Josh took this opportunity. It did not work the way Josh hoped though because Blare was sided with her mom and her mom was on Jeremy’s side with taking out Josh. Josh tried pulling the “I saved you earlier in the game” card on Blare to try to make her feel bad and side with him for the next tribal council but it did not work and if anything it upset her and made her to not want to side with him even more.

John was sent to exile island, while their he gets a clue to an idol that is hidden someone on exile island. He is able to find it and now it is a game changer for him as now he has power.

The tribe all gets back together at the camp and you can start to really feel the two factions really starting get verbally/non verbally aggressive with one another.Jeremy starts to get offended with how Keith is acting with his son and other tribe members around the women of the tribe because of how Keith is also a firemen and as being a firemen like Jeremy himself he feels that their is a standard when it comes to manners around women as being a firemen. So he expresses this opinion with the other tribe members, at least the ones in his faction.

The women start to express their opinions about how the men are acting in the tribe with one another by using verbal communication. Jacklyn is starting to reconsider voting for Jeremy because of how the men on Josh’s faction has been acting around the women. This may become a problem because it may either make the vote even at the tribal council which would call for a re-vote or it would men that it would give Jeremy’s faction the upper hand which would ultimately lead to voting off Josh. In addition to this it may create problems between John and Jacklyn when it comes to deciding which faction to stick with. Keith and the other men in Josh’s faction don’t seem to be worried about this as they feel that Jacklyn will still side with John when it comes to deciding who to vote for.

In the second challenge the prize was immunity. During the challenge it came down to Josh and Jeremy competing for immunity from the next tribal council.Jeremy ended up winning the challenge and receiving immunity from the next tribal council.

At the end of the episode, Josh ended up being the person voted out at tribal council

 

 

Blood vs. Water Episode 9: Captain Crunched….

On Episode of Survivor Jeremy gets backfired for his vote against John’s vote. Instead he gets voted out which was quite a interesting because Jeremy was redeemed Leader of the group. And since the Jeremy is out it is now couples game.

On chapter 2. It is of group development. Each member of the tribes went and developed a certain style of trust, image and enough points of personality to fit in with certain people. But because Jeremy is out it is now more of a open game. Before Jeremy was the leader. They all developed around him and his control. When Josh got out last episode It felt certain that the group development will last that the group who were with Jeremy will keep going with Jeremy. The one thing i did catch however was tension. It is close to the reward time and everyone is now radaring each other on who gets the money. And the way they shook off these tensions were to create alliances and mini alliances with others around them.

When Baylor got the immunity this episode Missy felt control. She wanted to push her and Baylor to the top. And I suspect they will. Missy has been making bold moves for baylor and baylor clings to her mom. But the catch is she is stepping into the radar…….and with the leader Jeremy gone it was more about “performing stages” without a “norming stage”. Meaning it is a hubunkle of mess and free for all matches.

My next prediction…..Keither will get someone out…..why because he is there and he is observing everyone with small talks and sharp eyes.

Blog 8, Ep. 9: Getting to Crunch Time

I feel like this week’s episode  did not really relate to group leadership. I could not really tell who was being in leader in this one because every tribe member was so worried about themselves and worried about getting voted off. Reed was furious about Josh getting voted off. Keith and Wes were just over the whole game in general. When they had a immunity challenge, the whole group split into two teams. Jeremy and Nataly’s team won, but they decided to trade spots with Jaclyn and Jon because they know they have not eaten. The prize for winning that challenge was going out on yacht and eat sandwiches and drink all day. Then Jeremy got sent to Exile Island after trading places with Jon and he was told to find the idol. Jeremy realized that Jon had found the idol when he was sent to Exile Island and that is when Jon realized too that Jeremy was looking for it and that he technically lied about it. So this whole time everyone is questioning everyone else because they don’t know who is being honest and who they should vote off this week. In my opinion, I still looked at Jeremy as a good example of a leader. He tried having everyone’s back and help people think more rational and I was confused why he was voted off. Other people were confused why he was voted off too, because once again he was one of the stronger team members.

‘Cause the Players gonna play, play, play

During this episode of Survivor the players on the show went through a series of events leading to a an unexpected ending. Throughout the episode the Huyopa tribe displayed all of the four categories of group motivation.
After Day 21, the Huyopa tribe came back from tribal council having voted Josh out. This decision left Reed his partner furious and he decided to change the way he was going to play the game. His motivation towards winning Survivor had changed and he was playing to avenge it for his boyfriend. After going to the last tribal council it was evident now that everyone was playing the game of survivor with the main objective of winning no matter the costs. During the reward change the player had to go against each other and literally ‘shake it off’ until one side won. At the end of the challenge the yellow team won but Natalie again decide to switch places with Jon so he could enjoy the reward. Then in-turn, Jeremy did the same and traded so that Jaclyn could go with her boyfriend as well. Everyone was shocked that this trade happened and out of the blue but some were speculating why. Chapter 6 highlights, the four categories of motivation in a group as sense of meaningfulness, choice, competence and progress. Natalie exhibits all of these when she makes the choice to trade the reward up. Sense of meaningfulness because she is motivated to accomplish an alliance, and sense of choice because she had the power and ability to change things up with trading, sense of competence by providing feedback as to the hopes of getting alliance with Jon and Jaclyn groups because she felt the were so great. And lastly a sense of progress because she is helping develop here plan toward winning and celebrating how some did something for her in the past.
While on the yacht Reed sees that this is all a game, and Natalie is motivated by something to do that trade. Later on he exhibits sense of choice and meaningfulness by playing dirty and going through Keith bag to find the clue to an immunity idol and trying to turn others on his side. Jeremy goes to exile island and finds that someone in their tribe, who he speculates to be Jon has an hidden immunity idol so builds a stronger alliance to get him out. At this time every one on the Huyopa tribe is playing survival of the fittest and talking to each other on how they should vote constructively, demonstrating their sense of competence. Baylor wins the next challenge and helps her group brainstorm who to vote out the next tribal council. Jeremy now feels confident because he has given other players of the game useful information to build his alliance. At tribal council there was quick a deliberation on how people were playing the game, so I had no idea who they were gonna vote out. At the end of the day Jeremy doesn’t realize everyone is playing a game and voted him off Survivor. ‘Cause the Players gonna, play, play, play!
